I am Sandra Chua, a Singaporean writer of Peranakan descent.
My bylines, Sandra Chua and Sandra Ee, may be familiar to some. I’ve written for local and international publications for over 40 years and worked as an editor for Young Parents (Times Periodicals), Family (MediaCorp Publishing) and Kids Company (MediaCorp Publishing), among others. My first book, There’s no such thing as a skinny bibik (Epigram Books) was published in 2022. A sequel, There’s no stopping this skinny bibik, was launched in 2023.

My first novel is about a young Singapore lady, grappling with the demands of modern life while struggling to meet the exacting expectations of her traditional Peranakan family. Crimes are committed, there’s a love triangle and there are more skeletons in the closet than in the local cemetery!
